Member directory versus member learning
Hivebrite is built around who your members are and how they find each other: a rich directory, groups and sub-communities with their own leaders, email campaigns and automations, memberships and payments, events, and — as extensions — mentoring programmes with matching, a branded mobile app, 25+ languages and bi-directional connectors to Salesforce and HubSpot. Plans are Core ($895 a month), Flex ($1,995 a month), Prime and Custom Fit (by discovery), each with unlimited users, hands-on onboarding, and caps on global admin seats and groups.
Learner Journey is built around what members do and can evidence: CPD paths with due dates and a compliance report, AI-generated courses, assessments, certificates with a public verification page, events with member-free places, tickets or invoices, check-in and attendance certificates, bookings and an AI tutor. Members have profiles, a timeline and groups, but there is no directory search, no email campaign builder, no mentoring matching and no CRM connector.

When Hivebrite is the better choice

You have the budget for a four-figure monthly platform with onboarding, and learning is a small part of what you offer.
When Learner Journey is the better choice

Frequently asked questions
- Can I run a member directory on Learner Journey?
- Members have profiles and can follow each other, and workspace admins can see the member list; there is no searchable directory with filters or member-to-member messaging designed for networking. Hivebrite is built for that.
- Can I take membership payments?
- Yes — a learning path can be sold as a subscription through your own Stripe account, which works as a paid membership to the workspace's learning. Event places can be free for listed member email domains and paid for non-members.
- Can I use both?
- There is no integration between them. Organisations that do run both typically keep the directory and campaigns in the community platform and link members to Learner Journey for courses, events and certificates.
- What does Learner Journey not do?
- It does not import or play third-party SCORM packages (it exports them), has no xAPI/LRS, offers email/password and Google sign-in only (no SAML or Microsoft SSO yet), supports one ticket price per event, and has no direct CRM or membership-database integration. If any of those is essential, say so on a demo and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.
