Learner Journey vs Kajabi
Kajabi is an all-in-one business platform for creators: courses, memberships, podcasts, a website, email marketing, funnels and a checkout in one subscription. Learner Journey is a learning platform: AI-generated courses, learning paths, assessments, verifiable certificates, events and an AI tutor, free to start. They overlap on courses and communities and differ on almost everything else.

A business in a box versus a place to learn
Kajabi's pitch is that a creator needs nothing else: the website, the email list and broadcasts, the sales funnels, the checkout, the podcast host, the community and the courses are one product with one login. That breadth is the point, and it is priced accordingly — plans start well above most LMSs and are capped by products and contacts rather than by learners.
Learner Journey does the learning part in more depth and the marketing part not at all. There is no email-marketing suite, no funnel builder and no built-in checkout with its own payment processing; selling goes through your own Stripe account. In return you get things Kajabi does not offer: events with registration, tickets or invoices, check-in and attendance certificates; assessments with pass marks; certificates with a public verification page; compliance reporting; an AI tutor that answers learners from your content; and a free plan.

When Kajabi is the better choice
You are running a creator business and want the website, email list, funnels, checkout, podcast and community under one roof with one bill. Marketing automation matters as much as the content. You want a branded mobile app. You sell to the public at a scale where contact-based pricing is fine, and nobody needs to evidence completion to anyone.
When Learner Journey is the better choice
The learning is the product and you already have — or do not need — a marketing stack. You train staff, teachers, members or clients and need due dates, completion reporting and certificates that verify. Your programme includes live sessions with attendance and certificates, bookings or spoken practice. You want an AI tutor for learners, not just AI drafting for you. You want to start free, pay a fraction of Kajabi's entry price if you upgrade, and keep payments on your own Stripe account.

Frequently asked questions
- Is Learner Journey a cheaper alternative to Kajabi?
- On price alone, yes: there is a free plan, and paid plans are £10 and £50 per month against Kajabi's $143 per month entry plan at the time of writing. But Kajabi bundles email marketing, funnels and a checkout that Learner Journey does not have, so compare what you would actually use.
- Can I run a membership on Learner Journey?
- Yes. Learning paths can be sold as subscriptions through your own Stripe account, members get a workspace with a timeline, groups and profiles, and events can be free for listed member email domains. Email broadcasts to members are basic rather than a marketing suite.
- Does Learner Journey host podcasts?
- Yes — workspaces can publish podcasts, including episodes generated by AI from your content, with a public feed.
- Can I move my Kajabi courses across?
- There is no importer. Bring your videos, slides and documents into a workspace and rebuild by hand or let the AI course creator draft from your source material, then edit.
- What does Learner Journey not do?
- It does not import or play third-party SCORM packages (it exports them), has no xAPI/LRS, offers email/password and Google sign-in only (no SAML or Microsoft SSO yet), supports one ticket price per event, and has no direct CRM or membership-database integration. If any of those is essential, say so on a demo and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.
