CPD & compliance
CPD management software that joins the session to the evidence
Most CPD lives in three places: a booking system, a folder of slides and a spreadsheet someone updates the week before an audit. Learner Journey runs the event, the follow-up learning, the assessment and the certificate as one journey — so the record writes itself as people go.

Why CPD is hard to evidence
Continuing professional development is rarely one thing. A teacher attends a two-hour safeguarding update, a nurse completes a mandatory e-learning module, an accountant sits a webinar and then reads the guidance it referred to. Each of those steps is delivered by a different tool, and none of them talk to each other.
The result is that the CPD record is assembled by hand. Attendance lists are exported from the booking tool, completion reports from the LMS, and certificates are chased by email. When an inspector, a regulator or a professional body asks who has done what, the honest answer is often "give us a week".
The problem is not effort — it is that the record lives at the end of the process rather than being produced by it.
One workspace, one continuous journey
Learner Journey treats a CPD activity as a sequence rather than a set of disconnected tools. A session is an event with registration and check-in. The follow-up reading is a learning path. The check on understanding is a quiz or assessment. The proof is a certificate. Because all of those are modules of the same workspace, completing one step is what moves a person to the next, and the compliance report for each learning path reflects it without anyone re-keying anything.
It works for delivery you already run: an in-person INSET day, an online webinar with a Zoom or Teams link, or a fully self-paced module with no event at all. And it works whether the learners are your own staff or external members who register as guests.
What you get
Training events with registration and check-in
Publish free or paid sessions, take registrations, cap capacity with a waiting list, and check attendees in on the day. Invoice and purchase-order registrations are supported for organisations that cannot pay by card.
Learning paths with due dates
Sequence pages, videos, slides and quizzes into a path, assign it to individuals or a cohort, and mark it mandatory with a due date. Assignment notifies people by email and in-app.
Assessments and quizzes
Build quizzes and outcome-based assessments with AI, set a pass threshold, and use them as the gate at the end of a path so completion is earned rather than clicked.
Verifiable certificates
Certificates are issued automatically for event attendance, quiz passes and path completion — as PDFs, on your own template, each with a public link that verifies it is genuine.
Compliance reporting
For every learning path, see who has completed, who is overdue and whose training has gone stale. Nudge outstanding learners from the report, with every nudge logged, and export the lot to CSV.
AI-generated content
Turn a policy document or a topic into a course, a quiz or a slide deck in minutes, then edit it. Useful when the guidance changes and the training has to change with it.
Built from Learner Journey modules

A CPD journey, end to end
Here is how a single activity — say, a two-hour safeguarding session — runs through Learner Journey from booking to evidence.
- 1
Run the session as an event
Publish a safeguarding update, an INSET day or a webinar as an event. Staff register in a click; external attendees register as guests without an account.
- 2
Record attendance at the door
Check people in from the attendee list. Attendance is stored against the event, and an attendance certificate can be issued automatically to everyone who was there.
- 3
Set the follow-up learning
Assign a learning path — reading, a short video, a reflective task — to the people who attended, with a due date and a mandatory flag.
- 4
Assess understanding
Close the path with a quiz or an outcome-based assessment so completion means something more than having scrolled to the end.
- 5
Issue the certificate
A certificate is generated on completion as a PDF with a public verification link, so a third party can check it without contacting you.
- 6
See it in the record
The completion appears on the learner's progress page and in the compliance report for that path — completed, overdue or gone stale — ready to export as CSV.
Who it is for
Schools and multi-academy trusts
INSET days, statutory training, subject CPD and NQT/ECT support with a record per member of staff.
Membership organisations and professional bodies
Run CPD events for members, sell tickets, issue attendance certificates and offer follow-up learning under your own brand.
Healthcare and care providers
Mandatory training with due dates, a compliance report per topic and certificates you can produce on request.
Training providers
Deliver paid CPD to external learners who register as guests, then keep them in a learning path after the event.
Why it works
- The record is a by-product, not a job
- Attendance, completion and certificates are written as they happen, so the audit trail exists before anyone asks for it.
- One login for staff
- People book, learn, take the assessment and download their certificate in one place, on a phone if they like.
- Honest reporting
- The compliance report is generated from actual completion records — not from a spreadsheet that was last true in September.
- Start free, scale later
- Build the first programme on the free plan. Pro adds analytics, team management and custom branding when you need them.

Frequently asked questions
- What does CPD management software actually need to do?
- At minimum: let people register for CPD activities, record that they attended or completed them, check they understood, produce a certificate, and show a manager who has and has not done what. Learner Journey covers each of those with a module — events, learning paths, assessments, certificates and compliance reporting — inside one workspace.
- Does Learner Journey track CPD hours or points?
- Not as a separate ledger. What it records is the underlying evidence: event attendance at check-in, learning-path completion with dates, assessment results and the certificates issued. If your professional body needs hours, you can state them on the certificate and in the event description, and export the completion data to CSV for your return.
- Can external people attend our CPD events without an account?
- Yes. Public events take registrations from guests with just a name and email. They receive confirmation and calendar invitations, can be checked in on the day, and can be issued an attendance certificate. They only need an account if you want them to continue into a learning path.
- How do renewals and recertification work?
- The compliance report flags training that has gone stale — no activity within a configurable window — so people due to retake a topic surface in the report. Learner Journey does not yet send automatic renewal reminders on a fixed cycle; managers send nudges from the report, and every nudge is logged.
- Can we run paid CPD?
- Yes. Events can charge for tickets through Stripe, with promo codes and complimentary tickets, or take invoice and purchase-order registrations. Learning paths can also be sold as one-off purchases or subscriptions.
- Is it free to start?
- Yes. The free plan lets you create a workspace, build content with AI and run events. Analytics, team management and custom branding are on the Pro plan.
