Two ways to be "an LMS with AI"
TalentLMS has added AI to a mature LMS: its TalentCraft toolkit generates course content, images, video captions and tests, on credit allowances that scale with the plan. Underneath is a conventional LMS: SCORM and xAPI-style content, branches, SSO, custom reports, learning paths, automations.
Learner Journey approached it from the other direction: AI generation and an AI tutor are the core, and the platform around them includes things an LMS usually does not — events with registration, paid or invoiced tickets, check-in and attendance certificates; one-to-one bookings; AI coaching for spoken practice; podcasts and video. It lacks some of what a conventional LMS has.

When TalentLMS is the better choice
You have a library of SCORM or xAPI content to import. You need SAML or Microsoft single sign-on. You want branches (sub-portals) with separate branding for many business units under one account. You need LTI or API integration with other enterprise systems. You are a mid-sized company for whom a conventional LMS is the right shape and AI is an add-on.
When Learner Journey is the better choice
Your learning includes events — CPD sessions, workshops, member evenings — and you want registration, tickets or invoices, check-in and attendance certificates in the same place as the courses. You want an AI tutor that answers from your content with citations. You run bookings, coaching practice, podcasts or a public learning site. - Can Learner Journey import my TalentLMS courses?
- Not as SCORM packages — Learner Journey does not play third-party SCORM. Bring the source material in and regenerate courses with AI, which is usually quicker than it sounds.
- How do the AI features differ?
