The content bottleneck, then the engagement bottleneck
Learning teams have two problems in sequence. First, making content takes weeks — the subject expert is busy, the instructional designer has a queue, and by the time the course ships the policy has changed. Second, once it ships, learners read it once and forget it, and the only support is a search box.
Adding an AI chatbot to an existing LMS addresses neither. It cannot make the course, and if it answers from the open internet rather than your material, it is a liability rather than a tutor.
