Enterprise LMS versus learning platform
Litmos is built for an L&D function serving several audiences at once — staff, partners, customers — each possibly in its own branded portal or tenant, with identity handled by SSO, learning delivered as paths, ILT and virtual sessions, assignments and CEUs, and compliance evidenced with assessments, e-signatures, approvals and escalations. It imports SCORM, xAPI and AICC, authors SCORM natively, sells premium and partner content libraries as add-ons, and on Platinum AI adds AI authoring, AI video role-play assessments, skill-gap analysis and natural-language insights. None of the plans has a public price.
Learner Journey is what a school, a professional body, a trust or a small training team reaches for when it does not have an L&D function: AI drafts the courses, quizzes, assessments, slides and podcasts from your material; learning paths carry due dates, cohorts and a compliance report; certificates verify from a public link; events take registration, tickets or invoices, check-in and attendance certificates; an AI tutor answers learners from your content and AI coaches run spoken practice. It does not import SCORM, has no xAPI, no SAML SSO, no multi-tenant portals, no e-signatures and no content libraries.

When Litmos is the better choice
You are an enterprise L&D or enablement team training employees, partners and customers from one system with separate portals for each. You need SCORM, xAPI or AICC import, SSO, compliance workflows with e-signatures and approvals, off-the-shelf content libraries, and integration with Salesforce or your HRIS. Procurement by quote with implementation services is how you buy software.
When Learner Journey is the better choice
You have no L&D function and the people who know the subject need to make and run the training themselves. Your programme mixes online modules with live events that outsiders register for, and you need attendance, certificates and completion on one record. Learners need an AI tutor that knows your content, or practice with an AI coach. You want to start free today, pay a monthly subscription rather than a quoted annual licence, and you can live without SCORM import, SAML SSO and content libraries.

- No. It covers what many organisations use an LMS for — learning paths, assessments, certificates, cohorts, due dates and completion reporting — and adds events, bookings, AI generation, an AI tutor and coaching. It lacks the enterprise layer Litmos is built around: SCORM import, xAPI, SAML SSO, multi-tenant portals, e-signatures, content libraries and HRIS integration.
- Can I run several brands or client organisations?
- The Pro plan allows up to 20 workspaces, each with its own branding, domain, members and content. There is no shared reporting across workspaces and no tenant hierarchy.
- Can I move my Litmos courses across?
- Not as SCORM — Learner Journey does not import SCORM packages. Bring the source material into a workspace and regenerate with the AI course creator, then edit.
- What does Learner Journey not do?
- It does not import or play third-party SCORM packages (it exports them), has no xAPI/LRS, offers email/password and Google sign-in only (no SAML or Microsoft SSO yet), supports one ticket price per event, and has no direct CRM or membership-database integration. If any of those is essential, say so on a demo and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.
